Message from the President

Welcome new and returning members of the newly incorporated Seaway Valley Soccer Club Inc. (SVSC) formerly known as Kinsmen Minor Soccer Association. For those who are wondering why we changed the name, let me offer a brief explanation. This was necessary to evolve with the new criteria being set out by the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) and the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association (EODSA) to whom we are accountable. Seaway Valley geographically identifies us and represents the area from which our participants are drawn from. Our new structure will now allow other small clubs in the Seaway Valley to fall under our umbrella while still maintaining their own identity.

The Seaway Valley Soccer Club Inc. comprises three Leagues, Kinsmen Minor Soccer, (House League), Kinsmen Coyotes, (Recreational Program) and Seaway Valley Blazers, (Competitive Program). Each League has their own Director and Executive responsible for planning and implementing their programs for the season. Each League Director has a seat and vote on the SVSC Executive and is accountable to the SVSC Executive.

The primary focus of the SVSC Executive is to develop players, coaches, referees and facilities. The Club is devoted to providing the best and safest soccer experience in order to afford all players, coaches, referees every opportunity to enjoy the game of soccer. Achievement of these goals can be accomplished by building character, self-esteem, confidence and sportsmanship within our young athletes. Developing the team concept at any age is a positive life skill whether it's on the soccer pitch or in life in general.

I would like to introduce you to the committed and hardworking SVSC Executive:

Vice President Peter Wensink

Treasurer Dennis Derouin

Secretary JoAnne Montford

House League Director Rob McDonald

Coyote League Director Dan Campeau

Blazers League Director Richard Graham

It is the role and responsibility of the SVSC Executive to be accountable to the Club membership, the District (EODSA) and the OSA. This requires teamwork. The above Executive accomplishes this by respecting each League and building on one team - the Club. To address this, the SVSC Executive has documented and implemented policies and procedures as well as accountability for the present as well as the future.

It was a pleasure to work with each and every Executive member last year and I look forward to another positive year. I wish all the membership a safe and fun filled soccer season.

See you on the pitch!

Yours in Soccer
